Ok I am not one to eat Jell-o but I do like colors!!! So I went on a search for something to make for dessert this holiday. I have yet to make this tasty treat… but it sounds so good I thought  I would share.

RED WHITE AND BLUE DESSERT
Ingredients:
3 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 (8 oz.) pkg. Pillsbury crescent rolls
1 pt. fresh blueberries or thawed and drained frozen blueberries
1 qt. strawberries, cleaned, crushed and sweetened with 2 tbsp. sugar

Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar, vanilla and egg, beating thoroughly. Unroll 1 package of crescent rolls and evenly line bottom of ungreased 9×13 inch pan. Spread whole blueberries over crescent roll layer. Spoon cream cheese mixture evenly over the top.

Unroll second package of crescent rolls and place evenly over the top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes, until crust is lightly browned. Cool on rack and cut into squares to serve. Spoon crushed strawberries over the top of each serving. Store in refrigerator. Makes about 12 servings.

Have a Safe and Hapy 4th everyone!!! Much love to you all!

Ok… I am sure someone else out there is having the same kinda week I am! So here is a little something something to help you make it to the weekend!!

This is an authentic version of Sangria. You can add any fruit that you want, but I find that apples and pears absorb all the rum. This one is not diluted with carbonated beverages (’cause to me those are NASTY!!) I have much success with red Beaujolias wine and white rum, though spiced rum is nice too. So HERE we go!!!

 Classic Spanish Sangria

 INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lime
  • 1 orange
  • 1 1/2 cups rum
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry red wine
  • 1 cup orange juice

 DIRECTIONS

 1.   Have the fruit, rum, wine, and orange juice well chilled. Slice the lemon, lime and orange into thin rounds and place in a large glass pitcher. Pour in the rum and sugar. Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours to develop the flavors.

2.   When ready to serve, crush the fruit lightly with a wooden spoon and stir in the wine and orange juice. Adjust sweetness to taste.

Ok thats all I’ve got! but hey… maybe it will help you like it will me. Salud!
